I would say I was surprised to hear staff comment on me (positively in a championing way and nipping to get me stuff quickly) in my hearing and aghast to know that i got a lot of support and leeway from them all in the later stages because 1) the medics shouldn't have insisted i needed induction and they were sorry for me and 2) i did the first 30 hours of labour without at peep.
